Natural Linen

Natural Linen

The Linen we describe as 'natural' is the unique Hungarian linen with all its 'hand spun, homespun' quirky variations.

This linen is in its original form, although we have taken the time to wash and press it for you!

Take time to browse through the variety of Natural Linens, or head straight to the Online Shop to snap up your own individual piece.
Paragraph 1
You will notice unique variations in the Hungarian linen, because it was 'hand spun homespun' by families on traditional looms from home-grown flax. The homespun quality means that we have elegant fine European linens as well as coarse,
loose, raw linen fabric for sale.

Many people assume that old linen only comes from France, but linen was a prominent textile throughout Europe for years. The widths of the linen differentiate the countries so in France they were 1 metre, Germany 80cms and in Hungary the linen was woven on home looms that were between 50-60cms, wide.
In Hungary, the narrow widths of linen were hand stitched together to make everything from tea towels to cart covers.

The natural linens diversity is just as incredible today with its variety of uses capturing the imagination.
